September 2022
Michael Nenna was selected September Student. A member of the National Honor Society, RI Honor Society, Westerly Student Council, he has earned his Academic Letter. He formed his own landscaping business, working part-time during the school year and full-time in summer. His community service included School Department landscaping, CTE Open House tour guide, Freshman Mentor and plans to attend the University of Rhode Island.
October 2022
Dominick Lombard's academic honors fill up a page. He is the 2023 Class President, served as Student Representative to the Westerly School Committee, RI Boys' State Senator. Dominick's community service included YMCA Youth leader, Summer Pops volunteer, WHS graduation ceremony volunteer, Supper Table. He hopes to major in Political Science and attend Georgetown University.
November 2022
Dylan Benware is an honor student who has served as Senior Mentor at Dunn's Corners Elementary, WHS Bulldog at community events, Master of Ceremonies at the Pep Rally 2022 and served an internship at Ocean House. Assistant Principal Sweet called him an "old Soul" of pure heart and a person who makes school a better place. Dylan plans to attend CCRI for the first two years and transfer to the University of Rhode Island.
December 2022
Sophia Martino has earned High Honors with Distinction among many other Academic Awards. She has served as freshman mentor, student council and character education member, captain of the varsity swim team, Varsity Athletes Against Substance Abuse President. Sophia coordinated the very successful 2022 Student Council Blood Drive and has been a Surf Instruction with All Abilities Surf Camp.
January 2023
Hayden Sullivan is an honor student, Eagle Scout and the recipient of many awards. He has been a member of Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Track and Math teams. His community service includes volunteering with the Westerly Flag Committee, Jonnycake Center, VFW Amancio Gaccione Post flag box construction, landscaping at the Frank Olean Center. He plans on attending Merrimack College for Mechanical Engineering.
February 2023
Macey Nenna is a super exceptional student according to Mr. Hobin. She is a member of the Marching Band Dance Line, Dance Team, Photographer with Yearbook Committee and school newspaper. She is a student mentor at Dunns Corners Elementary School and is first grade CCD teacher at Our Lady of Victory Church. Macey has been in the School's Medical Pathways Program and plans to attend Rhode Island College for Nursing.
March 2023
Grace Price is an honor student, beautiful dancer, Italian tutor at Springbrook Elementary School with over 107 documented community service hours. She is in the Medical Pathway Program and plans to attend Quinnipiac University.
April 2023
Emily Mitchell is another "top performer" per Assistant Principal Sweet. National Honor Society, academic letter and more. She has over 94 documented community service hours and plans to attend Providence College with a Marketing Major.
