Dylan was unable to meet with us due to the storm that resulted in not having a meeting so he wrote the following message:
Dear Rotary Club Members,
I wanted to start by saying thank you again for awarding me a scholarship. I could not be more grateful. Regarding my fi rst semester, I could not have asked for a better start to my college career. Not only have I succeeded academically, but I have also made connections that I am sure will last a lifetime. As you know, I entered URI planning to major in Theater with a concentration in acting. I have successfully begun my program, and had the amazing opportunity to be a part of both productions, one as crew and one as main cast, and coming up in the spring semester, I have been cast in both shows and an understudy for 6 roles, two of which are musical roles. I have also decided to start double-majoring in Business Tourism, which I hope will open doors to many more possibilities down the road. Outside of academics, I have begun to fi nd my place in the community at URI. I am proud to say I am now an active member of the URI EMS agency, out of over 200 applicants, just over 10 graduated from the program. I am happy to say I have been able to continue donating blood (Platelets) and have made it to over ten gallons. I have also gotten a friend to start donating blood with me. With this semester over, I look forward to the next semester and the coming years with a great mindset and hope for the future. Thank you again for everything you do and for this amazing opportunity.
