Chief Paul Gingerella with President Ted
Chief Paul was officially sworn in as Westerly's new Chief on March 16 at the town council meeting. He graduated from Salve Regina University with degree in Justice in 2001, joined the Police Force in 2015 moving up to Sergeant and later Lieutenant. Along the way he earned his Master's Degree in Administration of Justice/Homeland Security with focus on Cyber Security also from Salve Regina University. Paul is following in the footsteps of his Great Uncle who was a Westerly Police Officer and an Uncle who was an officer with the RI Department of Environmental Management. He is very much interested in "strengthening the relationship between the police department and the community and welcomes input."
