Rotary Past President Mario P Celico died suddenly on 2 January 2019. He leaves behind 5 daughters, 4 grandchildren, 10 brothers and sisters, his significant other Dawn Paxton and many nieces and nephews. Mario was a Vietnam War veteran, served with on the Westerly Police force for over 20 years, owned various businesses, served on the Westerly Planning Board, Town Council, School Committee. He was also a member of the Westerly Elk's Club and founder of the Nick Vuono Charity Fund. Mario served as Westerly Rotary President from 1989 to 1990 and also served later as Club Treasurer and Board Director.
"The Celico family will greet family and friends at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main Street, Westerly RI on Monday, 7 January 2019, from 1-4 and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Clare's Church in Westerly RI on Tuesday, 8 January 2019, at 10:00 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery. To honor Mario donations may be made in his name to Nick Vuono Charity Fund or St. Jude Children's Hospital."
