Our first Student of the Month for the 2019/2020 year was Maya Champ. Her family members are good friends of Derin Temel so he presented the plaque, provided courtesy of Nigrelli's Jewelry. Principal Hobin introduced Maya as the "TOP" - top in leadership, top in service. She is a member of the National & Rhode Island Honor Societies, was RI Girls State Senator, received the Bausch & Lamb Honorary Science Award. Maya has been a Girl Scout and is working toward her Girl Scout Gold Award, participated in various school teams, volunteered as a camp counselor at elementary STEM camp and Attack the Track. Maya said that she had applied to several colleges but doesn't have a favorite and still is not sure what her major will be. We wish her all the very best in all that she does and wherever she goes from here.
