Principal Todd Grimes presented our February and March Students of the Month at our March 26th dinner meeting. TABER GATES, selected for February, has achieved academic honors all semesters and has received awards from Excellence in Business, Ronald Reagan Student Leader, EverFi Financial Literacy, Providence Journal Player of the Week, 1500 Point Club. Taber's community service includes Varsity Athletes Against Substance Abuse, Character Ed- Liaison Helping Families in Need, American Diabetes Tour de Cure Volunteer, American Heart Walk, WHS Basketball Camp Counselor, Waves Baseball Camp volunteer. And, he finds time to work at Misquamicut Golf Club as a Caddy, is a basketball referee and was an Apparel Company sales rep.
QUINN CHAPPELLE, selected for March, has achieved academic honors as well as the 2017 Brandeis Book Award for Social Action, Excellence in Advanced Placement in U. S History, Excellence in Psychology, Coaches Award Cross Country. She also has been a member of the Lacrosse, Cross Country and Indoor Track teams, Intern and Student Liaison for Westerly Area Youth Lacrosse Board of Directors, Broadcaster for WHS's Boys Lacrosse, organizer for Coaches v Cancer WHS Lacrosse fundraiser, All-League Goaltender. Quinn's leadership credits include serving as Student Representative on Advisory Council of the RI Dept of Education, Westerly School Committee, WPS's Communications Subcommittee, Advisory Redesign Committee and numerous other activities.
