On Saturday, May16 we hosted our Annual Scholarship/Charitable auction at the Cooked Goose with 65 people in attendance. We were served a delicious five course meal by Andrew Nathan and his staff and enjoyed beverages supplied by the Grey Sail Brewery and the Wine Store.
On the outside perimeter of the dining room were 32 silent auction items which consisted of a number of beautiful original paintings by artists from the Artist Cooperative Gallery and a number of bundled baskets featuring an assortment of very desirable gifts and certificates. After dinner and dessert, the fun began as Rotarian Cal Lord invited the guests to join in the live auction featuring 18 very desirable offering including overnight stays at Lamb & Lion Inn on Cape Cod, the Rose Farm Inn on Block Island, the Shelter Harbor Inn in Westerly and the Great Cedar Hotel in the Grand Pequot Tower. Once again there was a very fine watch from Nigrelli's Jewelry Store and a Brunch at the Ocean House and a Dinner at Weekapaug Inn. It was a great night and several people went away very happy with their winnings. At the end of the night we raised just over $26,000.
