Attendees Monday evening included Assistant District Governor Chuck Sauer.  Bob Lane attended but had stepped away when the picture was taken - thank you to Alan.  It was really great to see everyone - with hugs going out to all.  Cal provided an invocation with prayers for all who were ill, for all our first responders everywhere, for all the workers still out there every day so we can buy groceries, to go meals, and other supplies.  Kathryn said she had spoken to Vinnie who told her that his daughters and granddaughter are taking good care of him.  Vinnie's older brother has passed away but no funeral so there will be a service in the Fall.  Frank Livingston, our prospective member, has volunteered to help Rona's crew.  His wife's birthday was today - Happy Birthday, Evelyn!
To update everyone on our District Grants  -  our original RTT 2019-2020 Grant has changed slightly.  Because schools have been closed, RTT will not be able to complete it final presentation for the 2019-2020 school year.  We received a bill from RTT for the maintenance expenses related to the Westerly Middle School Forest for $1,000.  The remaining funds will be repurposed to Jonnycake Center of Westerly, Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center and RI Center Assisting Those in Need to assist their COVID19 emergency needs.  We also qualified for a District Special COVID19 $1,000 Grant.
Dan provided an update on the annual Jonnycake Center Pasta Dinner with the Lions Club.  It is confirmed for November 18 at the Calabrese Club.
Alan said that Grey Sail's Sanitizer has been going out very well but getting more bottles is becoming an issue.
Bob Elmer provided a Foundation Moment.  Also, 24-30 April 2020 is World Immunization Week.  If you donate to the Rotary Polio Plus Fund during this period, your donation will be tripled by the Gates Foundation.
Steve said a golf tournament meeting is planned for 29 April at 9am at his home but check in with him before going there - 401.595.4588.
Last update from Rona on 13April:
" It's been over a week, but it was a very busy week indeed.  We had our usual 'normal' requests and deliveries; we had a man from Western Connecticut who had come to Pawcatuck to care for his brother with a brain tumor who didn't know our area and needed food; we had a family in Westerly in crisis with no food, nor transportation and a death right in their home; and a woman who called last minute on Good Friday who had exhausted her allotment at Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center and Jonnycake, and didn't know where to turn for her next meal.  Thanks to the generosity of RICAN in Charlestown - they made an exception for us, met me with food and I was able to make a Good Friday afternoon run for her grateful family.  It has been gratifiying to hear their thanks, see the grateful tears, and just be able to help.  Jonnycake, especially, has been over and above in never saying 'no' to us and putting the requests from Westerly Rotary upfront every day.  Our people have never said 'no', either, when I called during a holiday weekend, during the 'monsoon' or on little notice.  Derin, Julie, Ted and all you others who cannot make these runs, but keep me buoyed with your kind words and good wishes.  We also have Jessica, a school teacher from Pawcatuck who has asked to help and who came through in a pinch at a touch time, and so many others."
The Delivery Angels include Rona Mann, Ted Avedesian, Derin Temel, Julie Lord, Alan & Jen Brinton, Donna Celico (Adopt a Grandpa), Jessica Bednarcik, Laurel Fernandes, Carol Umphlett (Stonington Rotary), Kim Rayner, Cal Lord and Frank Livingston.
