Fourteen members and Frank Livingston, prospective Rotarian, attended our Zoom meeting Monday evening.   President Kathryn led the Pledge of Allegiance and Prayer was led by Past President Cal.  There were no birthdays or anniversaries in the coming week.

Bob Elmer provided the Foundation moment with mention of the Polio Plus program.  As long as there is one person who could contract this disease anywhere in the world, it can continue to spread.  Bill ad Melinda Gates Foundation pledges to match our contributions 2 to 1.  This week, Rotary has a special program "Take Out Polio"  - International is asking all Rotarians to donate at a minimum the money that they are not spending for their Rotary meal that week since we are meeting by Zoom.  You can go to http://www.endpolio.org/donate.

Kathryn reported that the Scholarship Committee selected three winners and now that Baccalaureate has passed, we are delighted to announce that the winners are Ms. Daisy Gates, who plans to attend URI for Communications/Public Relations; Mr. Brandon L. Larossa, who also plans to attend URI for Business/Accounting; and Ms. Olivia Marsh, who also plans to attend URI in Nursing.

Save the Date emails went out to 168 golfer email addresses on Friday and nine golfers wrote back with requests for the registration form.  Three groups have submitted their registration and payments to secure a spot for our 5 October Charity Golf Event.  Derin and Caroline will be working on Major Donors for the Tournament.

Everyone shared Happy/Sad thoughts.

The June Board meeting began at 6:13pm.  Thank you notes were received from Chikumbuso for the walk/run event and Westerly Armory.  There will be a zoom meeting for the District's Award Presentation on June 17 at 7:00.  Rotary International will hold a Virtual Convention from June 20 - 26 - all are invited to attend - go to Rotary International's website for more information and access.  District Governor Charlene told Rona that it is perfectly ok to delay Club installation until July - some will be virtual, rather than live.  Kathryn hopes to work with Doug on our new Foundation.  This was the last meeting with Kathryn presiding as our President.  It has been a pleasure to work with her these past two years.
