Ten members attended our Zoom meeting Monday evening along with prospective member Frank Livingston.  Really nice to see everyone - virtually.  About having a live meeting - it was decided to wait until Governor Raimondo's decision on May 8; so we will continue with Zoom meetings for the next couple of weeks - or more.
The Golf Tournament meeting has been postponed to the end of May but the feeling among attendees is to go forward with the Tournament although there might not be much opportunity for sponsorships.  More to follow.
School applications are coming in by snail mail and email.  They must all be received by May 6.  Westerly High School is planning a Virtual Baccalaureate ceremony on June 9th so our Scholarship selection needs to be decided by May 22.
Janie Carlisle asked to have the following note published in our newsletter:
"Hand sanitizer is a standard item included in ESRD Dialysis Support Bags provided free to dialysis patients by The Carlisle-Williams Foundation.  As the increase in use of hand sanitizer continues, it has become almost impossible to obtain this much needed product.  I reached out to Rosemarie Russo, editor of the Tattler, after seeing a mention of Grey Sail Brewing making hand sanitizer, in the recent edition of the Westerly Rotary's newsletter.  I explained the situation and that we were unable to deliver packages to patients in a Rhode Island Dialysis clinic without the sanitizer.  True to the spirit of Rotary, Rosemarie went right into action.  Within minutes, I received an email that Grey Sail Brewery had donated 75 bottles of hand sanitizer to the Foundation.  Additionally, Rosemarie said she would deliver the sanitizer to me before the week is out.  She did (really, it was Anthony) and the packages will be delivered to the dialysis clinic this week.  Thank you so much .... Jen and Alan Brinton of Grey Sail Brewery.  Your generosity and caring will make a crucial difference in the health of these patients.  Sincerely, Janie."

Rona's team of Angels continue to make deliveries from Charlestown to Pawcatuck.  Highlight from Rona is a phone call from a recipient wanting to make sure that "you're alright...God bless you and all your Rotary people."

Grants:  The special District Grant and the repurposed 2019/2020 District Grant payments were sent out last week to Jonnycake Center of Westerly, RI Center Assisting Those in Need and Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center.  Upon receipt of RICAN and PNC purchase documents, Rose will be able to send in final reports in order to receive reimbursement from District.

God bless you all, stay safe inside and be well.
