March Student of the Month Ocean Lombard
Ocean was selected to RYLA last year but was unable to attend when she became Miss Rhode Island Teen. This talented young lady has her own podcast "Ride the Wave with Ocean Lombard", has collected over 3500 donations for her Bulldog Boutique which provides clothing for students. She was appointed member of RI Governor Dan McKee's Young Leaders Board, the RI Civic Liaison representing Westerly High School for the Secretary of State's Civic Liaison Program. She has served in many roles with the WHS Stage Dogs, is Captain of the WHS Dance Team, Class Officer and Social Media Representative. Ocean is a member of the National Honor Society and RI Honor Society and has been the recipient of many awards. She is hoping to attend either Villanova of University of Alabama in the Fall.
April Student of the Month Emerson Federico
Emerson has achieve high honors with distinction all four of her high school years with a GPA over 4.3. She has excelled in Cross Country, Outdoor Track, Basketball, Volleyball. She is Social Chair in her Class, Student Council Member, Journalist with The Barker, and more.
Emerson won a Skills USA Bronze Medal - placing third in Skills USA Emergency Medical Technician in Rhode Island. Her volunteer experience includes Westerly Hospital, Freshman Orientation aid, Volunteer Coaching Assistant School Track, Westerly Ambulance Corp, assisted coaches at Girls Basketball Camp. Emerson hopes to attend the University of South Florida, majoring in Nursing.
