This year on 26 August beginning at 5:30 the Rotary Club of Westerly with District Governor Sharon Johnson will welcome Westerly Police Department and the Community for a cookout prepared by the Highland Grille - Westerly High School's culinary students. All are welcome. Typically, our District Governor's visitation has been a pot-luck dinner with members providing the food but also kicking in with funds which always benefit Rotary International Foundation's Polio Plus project. This year the community has been invited to join with us in our beautiful Rotary Park.

Rotary has invested over 35 years to eradicate Polio in the world - More than 2.1 Billion Dollars and countless volunteer hours - to protect nearly 3 billion children in 122 countries. We have reduced polio cases by 99.9% since our first project to vaccinate children began in the Philippines in 1979. Only Afghanistan and Pakistan remain endemic. The cost to conduct polio surveillance worldwide is over 100 Million Dollars. More information will be available at the Park on 26 August.
